Turning to photography as a creative outlet during a valiant fight with breast cancer at age 34, [info]renaissance10 survived and set up a photo contest to help raise funds for the Lavender Trust, a nonprofit that provides information and support to younger women with breast cancer. In the first two years, the competition brought in over £65,000 (that's $107,260.73 U.S.!), with entries from 130 countries last year. Renaissance10 recently joined LiveJournal to meet other passionate photographers and find supportive friends.

It's that time of the day, folks, when I take you on a bumpy (and sometimes downright awful) trip down Friends Forever Lane. I should've probably recapped this for you before I did Claudia's Friendship Feud, but every time I see Mary Anne's pitiful face on the cover...well, I get the urge to throw things at other, more smashable things. Since all I can see that's smashable is a mirror and a TV, that's not a great place for me to be emotionally. Still, I'll press on for your sake.

In this classic piece of literature, Mary Anne and Logan break up again. But this time it's for good, y'all. No more sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G. Those who were expecting love, marriage and a baby in a golden carriage in their near future can just forget about it. (And not just because neither of them have the sex organs necessary for making babies.) Mary Anne is doomed to be a crazy spinster cat lady forever...

...oh wait, no she's not, because she's only thirteen. )

So, I'm rereading all my BSC books and collecting the ones I don't have, a process that has taken me a long time cause I've been lazy about it :) Actually, that's not true, my brain has just been extra hungry for real books since I've graduated college and am not forced to read them anymore. Anyway, I digress (anybody remember looking up that word after reading Kristy's Great Idea? lol).

So, on page 95, Jessi has some lovely words of wisdom for us. She's talking to Haley, who is expressing resentment for Matt. And Jessi thinks: "I was a little surprised at what Haley had said, but when I thought about it, it made sense. I tried to be matter-of-fact. After all, her feelings were her feelings. They didn't make her a bad or a good person." How wonderfully insightful. Words of wisdom from the BSC :)

Now, to be mean, I think Jessi learns sign language WAY TOO FAST. I mean she's signing all kinds of things. She even signs a speech at Matt's school. Whats hilarious, though, is that after having signed said big long speech, she goes: "Next Friday," I told him with Ms. Frank's help. So..she can sign a whole speech but not "Next Friday." Hmm....

Oh BSC, I love you <3

Chapters 1 thru 4
Chapters 5 thru 8

Sorry for the delay, friends. I'm not gonna lie. I got lazy.

Pita bread and hummus sammiches vs. the Baconator, the BSC does odd jobs to earn moolah, an uninteresting chapter with the Pikes, and holy crap, they need HOW much money for Hawaii?! )

Will the BSC be able to earn all that money plus more? Will they have to pull a bank job? Will their Will Dawn convert the people of Stoneybrook into eating more tofu? Will the BITs actually start being more responsible and not eat so much? All of this and more when I finish up this book!

I've been lurking here for ages, and just came home for Christmas. Home to my BSC books. Finally! After falling asleep each night, dreaming of the day when I would get to be a recapper, I would get to taste glory. Maybe I should do a chapter 2-esque intro. Okay here goes: I'm from Baltimore.

That's it.

I was all prepared to do Jessi and the Dance School Phantom but I couldn't find it! So, here we have one of the later books. I'm not 100% sure why I own this one, because I kind of lost interest in the series way before it came out. The cover is really unremarkable so I'm not going to show it.

Anyway, in this stunning addition to the BSC cannon, we learn a lot. We learn that kids who get left back are forced to go back in the middle of the year, and that they easily become a part of the social elite. We also learn about recovered arsonists. This book. Has it all.

Four for you, Glenn Coco! You go, Glenn Coco! )

You guys this was just my first try.

Chapters One and Two

So we last left off with Stacey whining because she's about to get a new math teacher so her torrid affair with Mr. Zizmore must end. After all he won't be around. Then we got treated to a big ole glass of BSC Kool-Aid and some club member descriptions. As if we don't all know them by heart. So I'm guessing you all now would like some fun stuff. Let's move on. Today, Dawn and Mary Anne have fun with a goat.
Yeah, that got you interested didn't it? )

I think I've had enough for now. Stacey and her sluttiness is bothering me. I think I shall watch Veronica Mars. I'll have more up within the week. By the way, I grabbed some old BSC books from my mom's house. I'll post a list in a future installment and you can all tell me what you'd like to read.

Okay, I'd like to start by saying that this is my first ever snark of anything. I've been lurking on this community and reading snarks continuously. Then I found the two BSC books I found at a work yard sale (sadly the only two I have at my apartment, though I'm planning on grabbing a few tomorrow when I visit my mother for Christmas Eve.) I decided to start with an easy book for my first snark, #65 Stacey's Big Crush. Beware, I'm probably not going to be the greatest at this.

First I'd like to give credit where credit is due. This cover picture came straight from Google Image search. Now onto the fun little snark of the cover. First, what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks is up with Wes's hair? I think someone decided to watch the E! Special on Elvis before the dance. Newsflash, that hair style and white tux thing didn't even work on Elvis. It did however work on Davey Havok, the lead singer of AFI when I saw him in concert. Off topic, but hey... who cares? Onto Stacey. She actually looks thirteen for once, with the dreamy expression. However the dress... The sixties called. They want it back. Now. And it looks like Jessi is looking at Wes's ass. Careful Jessi, Stacey will get jealous and slap a ho!

Now onto the actual book. I wonder how many root beers and cigarettes this is going to take me.
Lilacs! Lame Jokes! Cult! )

Okay I'm tired a bit. I promise to do more than two chapters next time. But this was getting rather verbose. Next time I'll try to make it shorter and also, maybe a little funnier. Just remember, first time snarker.

someone may have posted something about this, but i'm reading main street: 'tis the season, and the first chapter references the film, the journey of natty gann, which i loved growing up. i was so excited and then i suddenly remembered that ann m martin wrote the novelization for the film. trippy circular moment there!

I've been listening to the BSC Movie Soundtrack. And something that's always bothered me... What the heck is "Hannah, I Locked You Out" even about? I've played the song over and over, and it makes no sense to me whatsoever. Does anybody have a clue as to the song's meaning?

Wow, it has been a while! Sorry about that gang, but hopefully I've made up for it with the length of this one. :) Here is the link to the first four chapters of the snark for memory refresher.

Anywho, we are now off to delve deeper into the mystery of the Randolph mansion. Also, let it be known that Dawn continually pissed me off so much during these five chapters, that I made a new tag called 'shut up Dawn'. Because really, she just needs to shut up.

Hey all, I'm trying my hand at snarking again. My first attempt was way back in early 2008 and I sadly never finished it as I lost my muse. But that's not going to happen this time, I promise. :D

This snark is longer than I intended...once I got started I had a hard time stopping. Yay. So here's the cover and first three chapters, with more installments to come.

Snip. )
